For Kingsday 2026, The Gang Is Beautiful and Studio Strip joined forces to transform Studio Wieman, a former Mercedes garage in Amsterdam Noord, into a one-day cultural playground combining music, fashion, art, and community.
Kraft und Licht was responsible for the complete technical production of the event, delivering the lighting design, sound system, technical setup, and live operation throughout the day and night.
The industrial nature of the venue played a central role in the production approach. Rather than masking the raw architecture, the lighting design emphasized the scale, structure, and character of the former garage. Dynamic lighting scenes, atmospheric haze, and carefully placed fixtures created an immersive environment that evolved naturally from daytime gathering to late-night dancefloor.
Alongside the lighting concept, Kraft und Licht designed and deployed a sound system tailored to the unique acoustics of the space, ensuring a powerful yet controlled listening experience across the venue.
During the event, dedicated lighting and sound operators managed the production in real time, allowing the atmosphere to adapt to the energy of the crowd and the changing flow of the program throughout the day.
The result was a seamless technical production that elevated the venue's industrial identity while creating a memorable Kingsday experience for hundreds of visitors.
