Artist Willum Geerts offers a refreshingly different perspective on our time with DrawingUnderInfluence and fights against the negative image of contemporary Sensory Overload. Why not use that sensory overload to our advantage? Consider yourself hereby creatively challenged.
Whether you can draw or not is irrelevant. Within TOI, we use drawing as a tool to jot down your thoughts and perception, not to strive for a masterpiece. This interactive performance confirms your intuition and ignites your creative impulses. It activates a fresh outlook on our contemporary world, breaking through entrenched ideas and biased viewpoints. With the classic nude drawing model as a beacon in the chaos, TOI is an ode to the contemporary human in all their strength and vulnerability amidst the daily information bombardment.
Feel free to bring your own favourite drawing materials. Paper and various drawing supplies are provided, but make yourself comfortable!

Exciting news from Krafthaus! In this new 8-week course, you'll dive deep into the world of music production using Ableton Live. This course is your ticket to creating music that resonates.
Over the course of 8 weeks, you'll embark on a journey led by our talented family members, Merlijn (DJ Merlín) and Luuk (1/2 Match Box). Each week, you'll unravel the secrets of music production, learning to add new elements to your tracks. From the basics to advanced techniques, we've got you covered.
DJ Merlín (Merlijn): With a bachelor's degree in Composition Electronic Music and a 'Sound Education Music Producer' certificate, Merlijn brings over a decade of experience. His sound is deep, hybrid, and animalistic, sculpted through years of passion and expertise.
Luuk: A recent graduate from the Aema department of the Conservatory of Amsterdam, Luuk, part of the duo "Match Box," has already left his mark with multiple record releases. His style is a blend of 90's-oriented House, Trance, Breakbeat, and everything in between. Plus, he's got a sweet spot for using old-school gear.

How to navigate in Ableton’s arrangement view and how to program drums with the Drum Rack.
March 28, Week 2 // 20:00 - 22:00 - MIDI & Bass
What is MIDI? And how to create basslines with Ableton's Analog synthesizer.
April 4, Week 3 // 20:00 - 22:00 - Leads pads & Arpeggio’s
How to create leads, pads arpeggiators and how to make a melody by applying basic music theory.
April 11, Week 4 // 20:00 - 22:00 - Arrangement
In Week 4, we will work on the arrangement of the track. We'll go over different types of arrangements, and ways to keep them interesting. Then we will apply this to the track.
April 18, Week 5 // 20:00 - 22:00 - Processing
In this lesson we are going to look at ways to make the track sound nicer, using "processors." We will go through these 1 by 1, and we will add this in the lesson. Here you can think of EQ, distortion and reverb.
April 25, Week 6 // 20:00 - 22:00 - Movement
A track can become more interesting if it has movement in it. You can do this, for example, with a filter that opens and closes, or with volume automation. We will go through this in class first, and then apply it.
May 2, Week 7 // 20:00 - 22:00 - Sampling
Adding samples from other music, or samples you recorded yourself can give a track a lot of character. We are going to record some things, then add them to the track.
May 9, Week 8 // 20:00 - 22:00 – Listening
During the last lesson, we will listen to the final result on a club sound system.

Our workshops provide a foundational understanding of setting up and operating a light show. Led by our in-house Kraft und Licht light crew, we'll guide you through the basics and then dive deep into different facets of designing and programming. Working primarily with Chamsys, you'll gain hands-on experience with various lamps and light tables, and you will get the opportunity to refine your skills in a dynamic environment.

Music is culture. Nightlife is culture. Underground scenes are culture. Since we have a beamer & screen, lots of cozy sofas and a good soundsystem, why not enjoy a good movie night together? KraftKino is one of our recurring concepts.
We'll combine the best of both worlds: we start the evening with a music documentary within a certain theme, and afterwards you're welcome to stay for a low-key drink and dance with a DJ that shows us what that type of music is all about. Drinks & snacks are available at our bar for community prices. We as for a small 5 euro fee to RSVP your seat in our DIY cinema. Don't worry, that includes your first drink.
